Environmental and social impact assessment

The Blue Rivers® experts have a large experience in environmental impact assessment following the requirements of the EU EIA Directive and EBRD EBRD 2014 Environmental and Social Policy requirements. The main projects for the EIA are:

·         Installations for hydroelectric energy production. The experts have experience in EIA in Ukraine (Carpathian mountains), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Neretvica River) and Georgia (Dariali HPP, Lukhuni HPP, Mestia HPPs, Gubazeuli HPP, Shuakhevi HPP, Nenskra HPP, Samkuristskali HPP-2 );

·         Inland-waterway construction (proposed E40 navigation way from Poland via Belarus to Ukraine);

·         Dams and other constructions designed to hold water or store it on a long-term basis.

The experts have a large experience in social impact assessment, community needs assessment and public consultations (for e.g. development of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan for Dariali HPP, Georgia, public consultations for the planned flush floods water storages in Zakarpattya, public consultations on enlargement of the protected areas etc.)
